Wine and brine at the Dog & Oyster Micro-Vineyard and Oyster Bar located front and center of the Hope & Glory Inn. In 2021, owners Dudley and Peggy Patteson planted a micro-vineyard of Petit Manseng at their boutique hotel Hope and Glory Inn. Medal winning wine is paired with local oysters.
Find a “creative wine and oyster bar” that offers choices of oysters and seasonings all of which have been crafted by the Hope and Glory’s widely acclaimed Chef Meseret Crockett. Located front and center in Irvington, an oyster-centric town located in a coastal Virginia region (Virginia’s River Realm) where 90% of Virginia’s oysters are grown locally on 31 local commercial oyster farms.
They provide the ultimate food and wine pairing – a magical culinary confluence that creates a “sense of place” where they pair two of life’s most sought-after delicacies on this earth and in the water. Both offer a taste which is “top of the class” and uniquely reflects where they are grown. For our wine it is know as terroir; for our oysters it’s merroir.
Wine is offered by the flight, the glass, by the bottle, and by the case. Tastings have been replaced with flights of our four wines served in charming 2-ounce stemmed glassware. $10.00 per flight.
Prepare your taste buds for an exquisite experience! At The Dog and Oyster Micro-Vineyard two of our four wines are 100% estate grown wine using two varieties of grapes: Chardonel and Vidal Blanc are used for the two white wines we offer.
**The Dog & Oyster will close for its seasonal pause mid December 2024 and reopen after the thaw of winter March, 2025**
